Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who co-promotes WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, views Dillian Whyte as a very dangerous challenger.

Last Friday, Fury's other co-promoter, Frank Warren of Queensberry Promotions, secured the promotional rights when he stamped down a record $42 million for the mandatory fight. The tremendous sum of money will be settled up on an 80-20 split in Fury's favor.

Their fight is being targeted for April 23 in the UK.

Fury will be fighting in the UK for the first time since 2018.

He last saw action back in October, when he overcame two knockdowns to score a brutal knockout of Deontay Wilder in the eleventh round of their trilogy fight at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Wilder had put Fury down a total of four times between their three encounters.

But, Arum believes Whyte could present an even bigger threat in some respects.

The 'Gypsy King' will return home to UK against his domestic rival after facing Wilder last year to settle their trilogy with a penultimate round stoppage.

Fury's promoter Arum believes his fighter will prevail but has warned the champion not to under-estimate his chances with his "big-punching" style.

"Whyte has a great chance because he's a big, big puncher," Arum told IFL TV.

"He's a very rugged heavyweight, a very experienced heavyweight. If anything, he poses a bigger danger to Tyson than even Deontay Wilder did."

Former cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew views Fury as currently being the top heavyweight in the sport.

“Tyson Fury right now is the best heavyweight in the world,” Bellew told Talk Sport. “I think Oleksandr Usyk pushes him close but the way he dealt with Deontay Wilder last time out you can’t say he’s not the number one."
