Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who promotes three division world champion Vasiliy Lomachenko, is looking for the biggest fight possible in his next outing.

Before he discusses the future, Lomachenko has to overcome dangerous opponent Masayoshi Nakatani at the Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

Lomachenko will fight for the first time since losing a twelve round unanimous decision to Teofimo Lopez in their lightweight unification back in October 2020.

Lomachenko, 33-years-old, had hoped to face Lopez in a rematch in the fall.

But that is unlikely to happen, says Arum, because there won't be enough time to make that match in 2021.

Lopez was scheduled to fight mandatory challenger George Kambosos on June 19, but the fight was pushed back when Lopez became ill with COVID-19.

The bout is now slated for August 14, but it may get pushed back to September 11.

Lopez's wife is giving birth in the fall, which is going to prevent a second ring appearance this year.

With Lopez not being available, Arum would love to match Lomachenko against Gervonta Davis or Devin Haney.

Davis will also be in action on Saturday night, when he moves up to junior welterweight to battle WBA "regular" champion Mario Barrios in Atlanta.

“If you look at Lopez, because he didn’t take precautions and got COVID, he will probably only have one more fight this year, and that’ll be the Kambosos fight," Arum said to Fighthype.com.

“Obviously, if Lomachenko wins, he doesn’t want to sit around waiting. Lomachenko only wants to fight the best, and who are the best? Maybe Devin Haney or Tank Davis.

"I mean, Loma would consider both of them big challenges, and we would certainly like to make those matches. But again, it takes two to tango. Number one, as far as Tank Davis, what does Floyd [Mayweather] think about that? He’s the manager or promoter, and nobody is more of an astute boxing scholar than Floyd Mayweather. He knows boxing."
