The 9 fight card will be headlined by unbeaten former featherweight champion Óscar Valdez who will face late replacement Adam López who was originally slated to fight on the undercard. He was bumped up to the main event when Valdez’s original opponent, Andres Gutierrez, weighed in an almost unbelievable 11 pounds over the super featherweight limit.

After the weigh in Top Rank CEO Bob Arum met with a small group of reporters to discuss several topics including the highly anticipated Deontay Wilder-Tyson Fury rematch that is set for February 22nd. They fought to a split draw last December in a fight that Fury controlled for most of the rounds but had to overcome 2 knockdowns.

Last weekend Wilder was being outboxed by Luis Ortiz for 6 rounds before he caught and stopped Ortiz with a big right hand at the end of the 7th round to finalize the rematch with Fury.

“I was very grateful when the punch landed because Wilder sure as hell wasn't winning that fight. It was a very nervous time so I was very pleased to see that punch and it makes for a very big fight,” Arum stated.

Arum said that he will finalize plans with Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions next week for the upcoming press tour and other promotional details.

As for the fight itself, Arum is very confident that it will produce big numbers and that Fury will come out on top.

“I think it will be one of the biggest fights in recent heavyweight history. I think my guy is not (like) Ortiz. My guy is a consummate boxer and I think that he will stay away from the one weapon that Wilder has - which is tremendous - and that is the right hand. If he stays away from that he wins the fight easy but iif he gets knocked down he has shown that he has the capacity to get up and continue fighting,” Arum told BoxingScene.com.
