King Arthur Abraham (32-3, 26 KOs) will make his hotly-anticipated comeback on January 14 when he takes on Argentina´s Pablo Oscar Natalio Farias in Offenburg, Germany.

“We are looking forward to seeing Arthur back in the ring,” Team Sauerland General Manager Chris Meyer said. “We have found a tough opponent for him. The fight against Farias will be no walk in the park.”

It will be Abraham´s first fight since losing to WBA Super-Middleweight Champion Andre Ward in the semi-finals of the Super Six World Boxing Classic.

“I want to put on a good fight for my fans,” King Arthur said.  “Of course I have learned from my defeats. But now is the time to look ahead and get ready to fight again. I want to win back the hearts of my fans, and in order to do so, I need a convincing victory. January 14 will be the start of something new for me. I want to begin the new year with an exciting victory and then set my sights on a world title again.”

Farias (19-1, 11 KOs) has never been beaten by knockout or decision. His only loss was a disqualification when he punched after the “break”-command.

“We have analysed him on tape,” coach Ulli Wegner said. “He´s a tough guy with a lot of fighting spirit. He will be difficult to beat. But Arthur knows that he needs to put on a convincing performance. It will be an interesting encounter.” The fight will be contested above the middleweight limit.
