A super flyweight title elimination bout between McJoe Arroyo and Mark Anthony Geraldo now has a home and a supporting cast. The 12-round affair has been scheduled for December 20 in Carolina, Puerto Rico, headlining an independent Pay-Per-View card.

Arroyo (15-0, 8KOs) is coming off of the biggest win of his career, an 11th round stoppage of former flyweight titlist Hernan ‘Tyson’ Marquez on the road in Mexico in June. The feat came just five days before his twin brother McWilliams Arroyo earned a flyweight title shot in a second round knockout of Froilan Saludar in Puerto Rico.

McWilliams Arroyo went on to drop a competitive decision to reigning flyweight titlist Amnat Ruenroeng this past September in Thailand.

Both brothers vowed to become world champions in the pro ranks following their run in the amateurs, including having served on the 2008 Puerto Rico Olympic boxing team in Beijing.

Geraldo (31-4, 14KOs) comes in riding a nine-fight win streak as he fights on the road for his second straight fight. The 23-year old southpaw from Philippines scored a six-round decision over Efrain Perez in his last fight, which took place on the undercard of a Top Rank show this past July in Macau, China.

His last loss came to former strawweight titlist Oleydong Sithsamerchai, dropping a competitive but clear decision in their July ’11 clash in Thailand.

The winner of the bout will be named mandatory challenger for current titlist Zolani Tete.

Also on the show:

Former 130 lb. titlist Roman Martinez returns in his first fight since losing his title to Mikey Garcia last November. The 13-month hiatus will end with a new look, as Martinez (27-2-2, 16KOs) will contend for a regional title in the lightweight division, where he plans to campaign after having determined he is no longer able to shrink down to super featherweight.

Jose ‘Chelo’ Gonzalez (22-1, 17KOs) fights for the first time last May, as he will also appear in a separate regional lightweight title fight. The lightweight contender was last seen suffering a heartbreaking stoppage loss to then-lightweight titlist Ricky Burns, retiring on his stool after leading on all three cards through nine rounds but unable to continue due to a wrist injury.

Opponents for Martinez and Gonzalez are forthcoming.
