StubHub Center, Carson, California - Junior welterweight contender Arnold Barboza (18-0, 6 KOs) kept his undefeated record with a ten round unaimous decision over Mike Reed (21-2, 12 KOs), who suffers his second consecutive defeat. The scores were 96-94, 97-93 and 97-93.

The last time Reed was in the ring, he was blasted out by Jose Ramirez in a WBC junior welterweight eliminator last November.

And Barboza was in the ring in August when he picked up an eight round unanimous decision over Jonathan Chicas.

Barboza was landing the better punches in the first two rounds, as Reed was unable to connect with his better shots.

During the third, Barboza stunned Reed but was unable to capitalize as the smaller man fought him off. Reed did a little better in the fourth, but Barboza was outlanding him and using that much longer reach to do the better work.

Barboza continued to get in the better work in the fifth, but it was Reed who was pushing the action and landing some solid shots in the sixth. Barboza started using his legs in seventh, moving around and working his reach to keep Reed at bay.

The bigger man continued to stay on his legs in the eight, using his reach and making Reed following him around the. Reed was able to pin him in minor spots, but he was unable to keep Barboza there.

In the ninth and tenth rounds, it was more the same with Barboza using his legs and boxing. Reed was landing some good punches, but they were always one shot at a time - as Barboza just decided to keep away and box with his much longer reach.
