Calvo began to box more from the middle rounds on. The pace of the fight slowed, which favored Calvo more, as she switched back and forth between conventional and southpaw stances.

Undaunted, Mucino, a former two-time world titleholder, utilized lateral movement to look for openings. She did find success connecting left hooks to the body as both continued to fight in the pocket.

Both let their hands go more during the final two rounds of the fight. Both stood in the pocket, connecting with their fair share of uppercuts to the head. A left hook to the head by Calvo dropped Mucino during the final moments of round 9. Mucino beat the count, but the bell sounded to end the round, allowing her to recover during the minute break in between rounds.

Despite getting knocked down, Mucino attempted to walk Calvo down during the final round. During the final moments, a left hook to the head stunned Mucino, but the bell sounded to end the round, prompting cheers and applause from the crowd.
