Unbeaten junior welterweight Antonio Orozco will fight Steve Forbes on October 9, manager Frank Espinoza confirmed to BoxingScene.com on Tuesday morning.

The 10 round bout will headline a Golden Boy Promotions card that will take place at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, Calif.

Fox Sports One and Fox Sports Deportes will televise the card live.

Orozco (20-0, 15 KOs) is one of Golden Boy Promotions' more promising prospects. He has excelled thus far against modest opposition, including two victories over former contenders.

In his last bout on May 15 in Del Mar, Calif., Orozco won a one-sided 10 round unanimous decision over Martin Honorio. Prior to that bout, Orozco knocked out Miguel Angel Huerta in the second round in January 24.

"We feel Antonio is ready for more of these televised fights," said Espinoza, who manages Orozco. "We're going to push for him to get fights on Showtime."

Forbes (35-13, 11 KOs) has lost eight of his last 10 bouts, but does have a lot of experience as a pro over the 26-year-old Orozco.

Espinoza also announced to Boxingscene.com on Tuesday morning that unbeaten featherweight contender Ronny Rios will also fight on the October 9th card. Rios (23-0, 10 KOs) is coming off a hard-fought 10 round unanimous decision over Andrew Cancio on April 14.

No word yet on whom Rios will fight on October 9.
