Retirement is not yet in the mind of Alfredo Angulo, after losing an eight round split decision against former world champion Sergio 'The Latin Snake' Mora last Saturday at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

In fact, the popular Angulo said he still has that hunger that allowed him to eventually become an interim-junior middleweight champion.

Angulo (24-7, 20 KO's) had not fought since August 2016 and said it was an acceptable return, with a bit of rust but he realized that he still has the desire to succeed in a sport that has practically become his life.

Angulo was not happy with the scorecards.

"It was a good fight and the wrong decision. The judges did a bad job. Despite the time of inactivity I had was a good fight, that showed me that my body still reacts very well thanks to God, but I am dissatisfied with the decision," Angulo, 35, told ESPN Deportes.

Alfredo discarded the idea of retirement because it was not an overwhelming defeat, rather, he believes, it was controversial.

"I want to continue, the rust I had was for the long stint of inactivity, but my body reacted, I missed a little more than I threw, I still threw a lot, but I missed, maybe because of inactivity, but I felt good," Angulo said.

In addition, the Mexicali boxer said that he intends to continue at 168 pounds, unless something interesting comes out at 160 pounds.

"I felt good fighting at super middleweight, everything will depend on the opportunities that there are, maybe because of something very attractive I could lose weight to middleweight, but it has to be something very good," Angulo said.

The last victory that Angulo had was in August 2015. He hopes to get back in the gym to schedule a ring return as soon as possible.
