Angel Rebollar didn’t just test another undefeated fighter Saturday night, he knocked one off.

Los Angeles’ Rebollar often countered Omar Rosario while boxing off his back foot and out-landed his predictable opponent during their eight-round junior welterweight fight on the Efe Ajagba-Joe Goodall undercard at Tahoe Blue Event Center in Stateline, Nevada. All three judges – Tim Cheatham, Glenn Feldman and Lisa Giampa – scored their fight 78-74 for Rebollar.

Puerto Rico’s Rosario (11-1, 3 KOs) is the fourth unbeaten boxer Rebollar (8-3, 3 KOs) has beaten in the past 18 months.

Rosario continued to come forward in the seventh and eighth rounds, but Rebollar continually caught him with counter shots.

Rebollar blasted Rosario with a right hand, but Rosario quickly came back with a left hook several seconds after the halfway point of the sixth round. Another overhand right by Rebollar landed with just under 40 seconds to go in the sixth round.

Rebollar drilled Rosario with a right hand that landed with just under 30 seconds to go in the fifth round.

Rosario landed a hard right to Rebollar’s chest in the fourth round. After that round, ESPN’s broadcasters pointed out Rosario landing right elbows on Rebollar on three occasions.

Caiz sternly warned Rosario late in the third round for continually hitting Rebollar on his back.

Rebollar countered Rosario with a left hook to the body late in the second round.

Rosario landed a hard left hook with just over 1:45 to go in the first round. Rosario pressed the action throughout the opening round, which he clearly won.
