Treasure Island Casino, Las Vegas - In the main event of the evening, Andy Vences defeated Casey Ramos in a brutal battle of unbeaten fighters. The fight started out contested on even terms as both men felt each other out.

The bout stayed fairly even as both men had moments of success throughout the early rounds. Vences (17-0, 10KOs) caused a big gash under the eye of Ramos (23-1, 6KOs) in the eighth but the doctor deemed he was ok to continue as Vences seized control.

The fight was stopped in the ninth after a head butt which brought the fight to the scorecards. The final tallies read 87-84, 86-85 and 88-83 which lead I a technical decision for Vences.

In the co-featured bout of the night, Alex Saucedo (23-0) of Oklahoma City, OK survived a stern test to defeat Ray Serrano (21-4) via unanimous decision in his first fight under the guidance of trainer Abel Sanchez. Sanchez of course trains fighters such as Gennady Golovkin, Murat Gassiev, and several others. The final tallies read 77-74 twice and 76-75.

The fight started out very even as both fighters were cautious the first two rounds. However at the end of the second, Saucedo sent Serrano to the canvas with a right hand just before the round ended.

Saucedo went to work early in the third, sensing Serrano was still hurt from the knockdown. Serrano was able to recuperate and had a lot of success in the third and fourth rounds. In the fifth round the momentum swung back to Saucedo as he took advantage of Serrano's tendency to hang out on the ropes. Both men exchanged furious hard to open the seventh. The action stayed intense as blood began to trickle from Serrano's nose. A low blow by Saucedo temporarily slowed the action as the fight headed to the eighth and final round.

Jesse Hart (10-0) started out fast in defeating Andrew Hernandez (15-5-1) in their super middleweight bout. Hart dropped Hernandez early in the first round and showed good patience in his first fight since injuring his hand in February. Hart stunned, battered and hurt Hernandez again in the third. Hernandez appeared out on his feet which prompted referee Robert Byrd to stop the contest at the 1:59 mark.

Opening up the action tonight, Steve Nelson improved to 4-0 with a 2nd round TKO over Reyes Diaz (5-1) of Denver in their light heavyweight fight. The time of the stoppage was 1:58. The first round opened up with a bang with Diaz hitting the canvas twice before Nelson hit the deck just before the end of the round. Midway through the second round a left handed finished Reyes and left him motionless on the canvas for several seconds before he was able to rise to his feet.

Nelson, who is from Omaha, Nebraska, is managed by Brian McIntyre who also co-manages and trains WBO/WBC super lightweight champion Terence Crawford.
