Former middleweight champion Andy Lee has becoming a very respected trainer in the last few years.

Lee, the head trainer of contender Jason Quigley, is preparing the young boxer for a very tough fight - which is scheduled for November 19 against for WBO middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade. DAZN will stream the contest.

Andrade, 30-0, is regarded as having one of the toughest boxing styles to deal with - which is why very few top fighters are interested in facing him.

Lee, who once held the very same WBO strap, believes his boxer is good enough to pull off a major upset.

“Andrade is very good, he’s very gifted,” said Lee to Irish News. “He’s strong, slick, fast and talented but I think Jason will probably be his best opponent in terms of concentration and technical ability. Jason has nothing to lose and we’ve come up with a gameplan and he’s working extremely hard – he’s doing everything he possibly can to win the fight.

“Jason will have to compete with him for every second of every round. It’s about concentration, it’s about making Andrade work and taking him out of his comfort zone. It’s about fighting the fight that Jason wants to. It’s ring craft, that’s what we’ve been working on – it’s not just throwing shots, it’s about dominating the fight and deciding when to fight. It’s a big job and he knows that, but it’s a fight he’s capable of winning.”

Quigley has been rebuilding his career for the last two years, after suffering an unexpected stoppage loss at the hands of Tureano Johnson.

“I’ve seen him improve over the two years we’ve been working together but even since this fight has come about I’ve seen Jason reach a new level and I think that’s down to the challenge that Andrade presents,” said Lee.

“Jason was always a guy who fought his best when he was up against the best as an amateur. As a pro I think this is the first fight he’s ever been an underdog going into. I think that excites him and it’s bringing out the best in him so that’s a good dynamic going into the fight. I think it has given him a good mindset going into the fight.”
