Fury and Wilder have been inactive since their February 2020 rematch. Wilder was stopped in seven rounds.

The third fight was scheduled to take place on July 24th, but it was postponed when Fury tested positive for COVID-19.

They will now collide on October 9th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

In the aftermath of his defeat, Wilder made changes to his team - like the departure of co-trainer Mark Breland.

Wilder has since added retired heavyweight Malik Scott as trainer.

Wilder knocked Scott out in one round in 2014. They would later become close friends.

Some observers feel that there hasn't been a lot of time for Wilder and Scott to build a true chemistry and create a tight fight strategy - but the recent delay will provide them with additional time to get everything in place.

Lee expects a better Wilder than the one they would faced on the original July date.

“I think it's a benefit to [Deontay Wilder], because he'll have longer with Malik Scott, allow him to prepare, and more time to get himself in the right place mentally, because that's what the challenge is - for him is to be right mentally," Lee told The DAZN Boxing Show.

“I think after the second fight, the job of pace is done. It will take an immense, immense effort to come back from that mentally for Wilder. So it's given him more time, more time to get the style that Malik Scott wants to have. I don't know what they're gonna do, whether they're gonna fight or try and box.”
