Up and coming cruiserweight contender Andrew Tabiti (15-0) is excited about his upcoming showdown against rugged veteran Lateef Kayode (21-2).

The fight takes place at Sam's Town Hotel and Gambling Hall in Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday night.

Tabiti passed his toughest test to date in his last fight when defeated former champion Steve Cunningham last August on the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor pay-per-view undercard at T-Mobile Arena.

Tabiti wants to make another statement on May 11th against Kayode who like Cunningham is a physically bigger man than Tabiti.

"This is another step up fight to fight a veteran like Lateef Kayode. He is rugged. He is tough. He is a good opponent for me to showcase my talent. It is also preparing me for the next level. I am just appreciative the guy took the fight and I will get to showcase my talent with close to a top tier opponent," Tabiti told BoxingScene.com.

"I look at it basically like I am faster and they are the bigger guy. I am strong enough to hold my own inside. I believe that I am the smarter guy and that I hit harder and I just want to showcase that on May 11th."

Even though Kayode is the bigger fighter, Tabiti won't be surprised if the fight ends early.  He finished our interview by saying that the fans may want to tune in early.

"The fans can expect fireworks and expect a victory. I am going to go in there and do my thing. You can also expect possibly a knockout," said Tabiti.

Tabiti-Kayode will be televised along with Ishe Smith-Tony Harrison on Bounce TV in the lastest installment of the Premier Boxing Champions series.
