Olympia, London - Andrew Selby continues his rapid rise through the professional ranks with a comfortable 10 round points win over Ardin Diale.

Selby (7-0-0, 5KOs) – younger brother of featherweight world champion Lee Selby – looked a class above as his combination of speed and ring craft helped him pick up the WBC international flyweight title. All three judges scored the contest 100-90.

The Welshman, 28, buckled the knees of his Filipino opponent (32-10-4, 15KOs) with a pin point straight right hand in the second round and repeated the trick in the fourth with another meaty overhand right which drew gasps from the crowd.

Selby, from Barry in Wales, looked comfortable skipping in and out of range, landing to head and body as Diale looked to counter at the end of exchanges with limited success.

Under the watchful eye of Chris Sanigar in his corner, Selby continue to win rounds by being the first to punch and began to sit on his shots as he looked for a stoppage from the mid-way point.

A four punch combination temporarily stopped Diale in his tracks in round seven and a barrage of unanswered shots in the following round had the referee having a closer look but Selby was unable to land the finishing blow.

Despite only turning professional in 2015, Selby is now targeting a world title shot before the end of the year.

Portsmouth’s Lucas Ballingall (5-0-0, 1KO) chalks up another win in the paid ranks with a comprehensive 40-34 four round points win over Harvey Hemsley (3-32-1, 2KOs).

Fresh-faced Ballingall, 20, demonstrated flash combinations and hurt Hemsley with a left hook upstairs in the first round.

He followed up by landing some crisp uppercuts that staggered Hemsley in the third and again had his opponent in trouble in the fourth with a swift left to the body to left hook attack.

Hemsley looked to clinch in the final exchanges to buy himself time and was able to see out the super featherweight contest.
