Former two division champion Andre Ward is not sure what to make of Deontay Wilder's recent behavior where he appeared at a press conference and said very little - and then blew off a lot of interviews with the press.

Earlier this month in Los Angeles, Wilder appeared at the kick-off press conference with WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury - to announce their trilogy showdown scheduled for July 24th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Wilder, who wore headphones the entire time, refused to answer questions from the press conference moderator, completely ignored all of Fury's banter, and then left the presser following the face-off.

Back in February of 2020, Fury dominated and stopped Wilder in seven rounds to capture the WBC title.

Wilder, now trained by former foe Malik Scott, is promising to get revenge in the third fight.

Ward views Wilder as a very dangerous fighter due to his intimidating punching power.

But, like everyone else, he's very curious to find out if Wilder's 'out of character' behavior will pay off next month.

“I didn’t like the headphones from Wilder, but that’s the strategy he’s taking and we’re going to find out if it works or not. Fury has basically been doing what he’s been doing, talking his talk and he tends to back it up," Ward told Fighthype.com.

“Wilder is out of character in a sense that he’s not his normal self, but we got to see if this new tactic of tuning the world out and tuning Fury out will work. We’re going to find out in a month from now. I don’t think he has a better chance. I think he has the chance that he’s always had.

“He’s dangerous, but I think he’s always going to be dangerous. But in this fight I think he’s going to be dangerous in a different kind of way because of the circumstances. He’s got a lot to prove."
