WBO middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade has unfortunately lived up to his nickname.

The 13-year professional dubbed as “Boo Boo” is still searching for a career-defining win, and at the age of 33, it won’t be coming against mandatory challenger Liam Williams on April 17 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

The slick southpaw Andrade is still largely considered a high-risk boogeyman for many of the top 160 and 168 pounders in the world, including world title holders like Canelo Alvarez, Gennadiy Golovkin, Billy Joe Saunders and Jermell Charlo.

Andrade suggests that one way not to scare potential opponents away is by upping offers with more money.

“I don't have too many conversations with [Matchroom Boxing head] Eddie Hearn. I let my team do the wheeling and dealing. I also let my team know it's time we step up the money, maybe, for these fighters to step up in the ring, like GGG, or Charlo, or Billy Joe Saunders. Not saying they are not getting paid, they are getting paid well. But you might have to give them a little more to make it worthwhile,” Andrade told BoxingScene.com in an interview.

“At the end of the day, they have their own agendas, strategies and routes they want to take. Unfortunately Demetrious Andrade is not in their route. Therefore we have to entice them with a little bit more money to ensure we make it happen. Everybody is getting millions of dollars. What's it going to take for them to fight me? There is no reason why we can't figure out how we are going to make it happen. My suggestion is maybe we have to pay a little more money.”

Andrade said it's unrealistic for the top champions at middleweight and super middleweight to declare they have nothing to gain from fighting him.

“You're fighting a world champion. What do these people have that I don't have? That talk is just excuses,” said Andrade. “Everybody knows me as 'nobody knows me' so I guess everybody knows me.”

Andrade is hoping he could fight Saunders after the British boxer next faces Canelo Alvarez on May 8.

“I'm willing to fight everybody else instead of sitting there waiting for Canelo,” he said. “I'm trying to get the biggest fights possible, but at the end of the day, I'm happy. I've had a good career. I'm undefeated. I'm a world champion. I have a good life. I’m supposed to be sad that I’m not fighting Canelo? Get the f--- out of here.”

Instead of a big fight with the likes of Alvarez, Golovkin, Charlo or Saunders, Andrade has been left with Williams instead.

He promises he won’t be overlooking a fighter making his US debut.

“All the sh!t that’s been coming out of his mouth … everything that he has to say. I want to put an a--whooping on him come April 17,” said Andrade. “Anybody I fight, I didn't pick them. You know what I'm saying? Someone's trying to take my head off, so of course I'm going to be on edge. I'm expecting him to bring his A-game.”
