Later Saturday night, Mark DeLuca out-worked Walter Wright to win their 10-round rematch.

DeLuca (22-1, 13 KOs), a junior middleweight from Whitman, Massachusetts, avenged his lone loss by beating Wright (17-5, 8 KOs) by unanimous decision in this competitive eight-rounder. The 30-year-old DeLuca won seven rounds on one scorecard (97-93) and six rounds on two scorecards (96-94, 96-94).

Seattle’s Wright, 37, won a split decision over DeLuca in their 12-rounder June 23 in Gilford, New Hampshire.

DeLuca continued controlling the action during the 10th round and drilled Wright with a hard right hand late in that final round.

DeLuca’s left hand landed cleanly to Wright’s head late in the ninth round. Wright pressed the action throughout the eighth and ninth rounds, but had difficulty connecting with flush punches in those two rounds.

An overhand left by DeLuca knocked out Wright’s mouthpiece with approximately 40 seconds remaining in the seventh round. Later in what was a successful round for DeLuca, he landed a left uppercut and a right uppercut.

Wright landed an overhand right early in the sixth round, but DeLuca came right back and connected with a right hand of his own.

DeLuca landed several left hands and a right hand in the fifth round that likely won it for him.

Mercante warned DeLuca for repeated low blows with 47 seconds to go in the fourth round. Before fouling Wright, DeLuca successfully landed to Wright’s body in the fourth.

Wright got off to a slow start in the first two rounds, but largely avoided DeLuca’s left hand in the third round and landed enough punches to win that round.

DeLuca landed two hard left hands in the second round, both within its first two minutes. DeLuca had a strong first round, when he buckled Wright’s legs after landing a left hand with just over a minute to go in it.

Irish heavyweight Niall Kennedy out-landed Brendan Barrett to win a sloppy, six-round heavyweight fight Saturday in Boston.

Kennedy, 34, knocked down Barrett in the fifth round and won their bout on all three scorecards on the Demetrius Andrade-Walter Kautondokwa undercard at TD Garden. Kennedy (12-0-1, 7 KOs) won by scores of 60-53, 60-53 and 58-55.

The 36-year-old Barrett, of Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey, lost for the first time as a pro (7-1-2, 5 KOs).

After dropping Barrett in the fifth round, Kennedy backed up Barrett by landing two jabs early in the sixth round. A straight right hand by Kennedy staggered Barrett with about 1:20 left in the sixth round.

Kennedy connected with a right hand that left Barrett holding at 1:15 of the fifth round and eventually sent him to the canvas. Barrett got up and fought through fatigue to make it to the end of the round.

Kennedy’s left hook moved Barrett backward with 1:40 remaining in the fourth round. Barrett hit Kennedy with a right hand that stopped him in his tracks late in the third round.

Barrett, who also has fought in mixed martial arts, threw Kennedy to the canvas with about 35 seconds to go in the second round. Referee Leo Gerstel issued a stern warning to Barrett after that move.

Kennedy rocked Barrett with a right hand that landed when they were in the center of the ring just after the halfway point of the first round. Barrett followed that right with a stiff jab.

Barrett drilled Kennedy with a right hand of his own a little later in the first round.
