Undefeated heavyweight contender Amir Mansour (17-0, 13 KOs) doesn’t despair over securing a big fight in the near future. The American southpaw in his last ring appearance beat Dominique Alexander (23-16-1, 11 KOs) by knocking him out in the first round. Mansour, who still has been complaining about a lack of notable opponents, will most likely be back in the ring in April, maybe against veteran Fres Oquendo (35-7, 23 KOs).

“I’m going to fight on April 12th. I was trying to get a fight with Tomasz Adamek, Seth Mitchell, Cristobal Arreola, Tony Thompson and all top American and world heavyweights. Unfortunately, none of those guys took my challenge. When I fought with Dominique Alexander for the WBO NABO title, I beat him and I won the belt. We wanted to defend that title against Chris Arreola, but his team said “no”. Seth Mitchell’s team said the same. But as soon as I vacated NABO belt last year, Mitchell fought for it with [Chazz] Witherspoon. All these guys avoid me but I still try to secure a big fight to give fans what they want. It seems that in my next bout I will face [Fres] Oquendo, because he was the only one notable heavyweight who accepted my challenge,” Mansour said to boxingbet.pl [1].

“All of these heavyweights from all over the world, they keep fighting with guys that they know they can beat. Fighting with guys they know they can beat over and over! That's why the heavyweight division is no longer exciting. For the last six years, for the first time in the history of boxing the heavyweight division has not been the main division in boxing that people are interested in watching. That's because current champions, the Klitschkos, they continue fighting guys that they know they can beat, but I will say that it's also the organizations who are ranking guys that don't deserve title shots. So we've gotta stop playing politics in boxing and start putting the best against the best. That's what we have to start doing to bring the exciting back to the heavyweight division,” he added.

Mansour doesn’t hide that he is most interested in facing Tomasz Adamek (48-2, 29 KOs), who is currently trying to secure his second title shot in the heavyweight division.

"I want to fight with Tomasz Adamek, because he is ranked high in the world rankings and he’s in the top ten among all of the top heavyweights, just behind the Klitschkos. If I beat a guy who is number one, the Klitschko brothers will have to fight me. That’s why I want to face Adamek. What are his weaknesses? He goes forward and he doesn’t do anything after attacks. None of the heavyweights can beat Amir Mansour if they go forward. I hit too hard, I’m too strong and too fast. Nobody wants to see Tomasz Adamek fight Klitschko again! Who wants to see that? Nobody, because they know that would be another blow out just like his brother [Vitali Klitschko] blew him out. I don't want to see that, the people don't want to see that. They want to see him fight someone who is on the same level. They don't want to see his fight against another Klitschko."
