Ryan Kelly scored a scintillating knockout to keep hold of his fringe title.

The Solihull super-welterweight took less than a round to inflict defeat on one of his former sparring partners.

Kelly, trained by Spencer McCracken and managed by Jon Pegg, was up against Kelcie Ball at the Arena Birmingham.

And the fight, for the former’s Midlands Area title, exclusively live on Sky Sports’ Facebook and YouTube channels, was over after just one minute and 29 seconds.

Kelly said after his quick obliteration of the previously undefeated Ball that he could well step down in weight to welterweight after coming in well inside the 154lb limit at Friday’s weigh-in.

Meanwhile, Kieron Conway extended his undefeated ledger with a win over Holland’s 21-year-old Gino Kanters.

MTK Global-managed Conway, who was last in action in July, was forced to come through a few sticky patches during the four-round outing before coming away with a decision by a margin of 40 points to 37.

The fight was far closer than the scorecard of referee Shaun Messer suggested and Kanters will feel aggrieved to have not been awarded at least a draw after the conclusion of proceedings.

Steven Donnelly will roll into his next fight next month on the back of his second successive pro win.

The double Commonwealth Games medallist, who turned over under MTK Global last month, was in action in the Midlands.

And the 29-year-old outpointed Miguel Aguilar on the Sky Sports-aired bill by 40 points to 36.

Having debuted in Belfast last month on the undercard to Carl Frampton’s Windsor Park defence of his WBO interim featherweight title against Australia’s Luke ‘Action’ Jackson, Donnelly will return to the city on October 5 in what will be his third fight in as many months.

The bill, at the Titanic Exhibition Centre, is headlined by Derry super-bantamweight Tyrone McCullagh’s vacant WBO European title challenge against English champion Josh Kennedy.

Donnelly will be joined on the ‘Raise The Titanic’ bill in Northern Ireland by Sean McComb.

McComb, like Donnelly, picked up his second win in the paid ranks on the Birmingham card with a stunning second-round stoppage over Lesther Cantillano.

Meanwhile, there were wins for Osman Aslam, Qais Ashfaq, Shakan Pitters and Gamal Yafai.

Aslam stopped Jack Summers in the third round with a body shot, while Ashfaq took less than a round to dispatch of winless Gary Austin, Pitters got rid of cruiserweight Imantas Davidaitis in the second of four scheduled rounds and Yafai knocked out Nicaragua’s Brayan Mairena in the penultimate of eight rounds to secure his second win since losing his undefeated record back in March.
