An unlikely tandem is now set in writing.

Multi-division champion Amanda Serrano will have her career guided by friend and stablemate Jake Paul, the YouTuber-turned boxing phenomenon, under his newly-minted Most Valuable Promotions label, Serrano announced Thursday across her social media accounts.

“I’m excited to announce my signing to Most Valuable Promotions[.] Together w[ith] Jake Paul and BAVAFASports we’ll elevate women’s boxing,” Serrano posted on Twitter. “I’ve always let my in ring performance speak for itself. Going [forward] I’m going to be speaking about it. No more sweet silent Serrano. Sincerely, Boxings GWOAT”

Paul confirmed the news shortly afterward.

“It’s official,” Paul wrote on Twitter. “Excited to announce the GWOAT Amanda Serrano signed as the first MVP athlete Most Valuable Promotions[.] Amanda is the #1 P4P female boxer in the world & the greatest female Hispanic athlete of all time. This IS BIG. Pay attention.”

Serrano is managed by Jordan Maldonado - with Paul joining the team in a co-managerial role.

The duo have made no secret of their respect and admiration for each other. Serrano, in particular, has praised Paul’s efforts to improve pay equity in women’s boxing; Paul has claimed that he gave Serrano a $500,000 bonus on top of her purse in her last bout but that has not been confirmed by Serrano.

Most recently, Serrano (41-1-1, 30 KOs) notched a dominant points win over Yamileth Mercado to defend her WBC/WBO/IBF featherweight titles on the Aug. 29 undercard of Jake Paul’s eight-round cruiserweight headliner against Tyrone Woodley at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio on Showtime Pay-Per-View.

Paul founded MVP with his manager Nakisa Bidarian in the wake of his win over Woodley.

Previously, Paul (4-0, 3 KOs) had suggested that his partnership with Serrano would be in tandem with Lou DiBella, Serrano’s longtime promoter. But Serrano quickly dispelled  that notion, saying she had amicably cut ties with the New York-based promoter.

“I don’t have a promoter anymore,” Serrano posted on Twitter. “Myself & Lou DiBella had a good 5 [years together]. We are still good friends & there is No hard feelings but at this point in my career a Promoter isn’t needed. I’m excited to be part of Jake Paul & his management’s team moving forward[.]”

The move reflects the growing boxing ambitions of Paul, perhaps the most unlikeliest character to emerge in boxing in the past year, and, perhaps, a new approach to building and marketing fighters.

“The Problem Child” expanded on the deal with the 32-year-old Serrano on his Instagram.

“The GWOAT Amanda Serrano officially signed as the first MVP athlete,” Paul wrote. “Amanda is the No. 1 pound-for-pound female fighter in the world and the greatest Hispanic female athlete of all time. Amanda hasn’t had someone with a big platform really put her on. She’s so marketable and a natural born superstar.

“There’s a new era of boxing and there’s a new way about promoting these fights and there’s a new way to become a big fighter and that’s what we specialize in at Most Valuable Promotions. Amanda already has the skills, and now we’re going to add our secret sauce into the equation.”

In an interview with Ariel Helwani in September, Paul said he is in talks with promoter Eddie Hearn to produce a mega fight between Serrano and Hearn's ace client, Ireland’s Katie Taylor, the unified women’s lightweight champion.
