Undisputed super featherweight world champion Alycia Baumgardner (15-1, 7 KOs) is seemingly no longer suspended by the Association of Boxing Commissions and is now able to resume her career.

Last week, Baumgardner took to social media to claim that the Michigan Unarmed Combat Commission (UCC) had lifted her suspension and she was free to box again following an almost eight-month investigation into anti-doping issues.

Baumgardner, who was supposed to defend her super featherweight titles against Christina Linardatou at the Masonic Temple in Detroit, Michigan, in July 2023, has seen her career put on hold since her positive drug test in the days leading up to the fight. News of a positive test for the substance mesterolone was not confirmed until August.

Boxing Scene has contacted the UCC for comment.

Throughout the investigation by the UCC and other international bodies, Baumgardner maintained her innocence.

In January, a WBC investigation cleared Baumgardner of intentionally taking the substance, and Baumgardner was able to retain that governing body’s title – a belt she has held since November 2021.

On Friday, Baumgardner posted on her X social media account: “Through trials and tribulations, I’ve stayed true to my faith in Jesus Christ.”

Within the post, Baumgardner included an image of her BoxRec profile page – which no longer indicated she is under suspension.

“Despite public scrutiny and lies, I remain strong and confident,” she continued in the post. “My light shines bright, guided by God’s love. I am a courageous woman, unwavering in my journey.

In a separate post on Friday, Baumgardner added, “Suspension being lifted on #InternationalWomensDay is a win!”
