World ranked Ramón 'Inocente' Alvarez has warned Antonio Margarito to focus on their before looking at bigger things on the horizon.

As BoxingScene.com reported on Friday, the fight was finalized for the 13th of August at the Convention Center Rosarito in Baja California. Ramón will defend the NABO super welterweight championship that he's held since defeating Omar Chavez, the younger brother of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., in 2014.

And although Alvarez demanded a neutral location for the fight, in the end he had to cave in with the obstacles that Margarito was presenting to get the deal done.

Alvarez, who enters the fight with a record of 23-4-2 and 15 knockouts, is riding a ten fight win streak and had 9 knockouts in that run.

"I do not want to fight there but he was putting so many obstacles. I told Zanfer to arrange everything, but of course I asked them to introduce me as the champion," Alvarez said to ESPN Deportes.

"I am working very hard, bringing some trainers to help me with the speed and strength. I'll be ready for 10 or 12 rounds, whichever it will be. I'm working hard and not placing my faith in Margarito being old. To me he is still a strong fighter and a warrior. I think he will feel more pressure because he is fighting in front of his people and he knows that he won't have it easy. He's facing a seasoned fighter and a strong warrior. I know I don't have it easy either, so both of us will be ready to give a great fight and of course [in winning I'll be] closer to a title shot."

Margarito has already started talking about a potential fall fight with Ramon's very popular younger brother, Saul 'Canelo Alvarez. Coincidentally Canelo and Ramon will be working together. Canelo returns on September 17th against British fighter Liam Smith.

"My brother is very experienced, fast, strong, and what better sparring could I have. I've heard that Margarito is looking past me and talking about how he will fight Canelo [in the fall], but I think he should first focus on me," Alvarez said.
