Unified middleweight champion Janibek Alimkhanuly is treating his dehydration and hospitalization that triggered the scrapping of his Saturday night as a “good lesson,” and will take measures to avoid such an alarming episode again, his manager told BoxingScene Monday.

Kazakhstan’s Alimkhanuly (15-0, 10 KOs) will hire a nutritionist and take a far more serious approach to his next weight cut as he fully intends to make up his fight with challenger Andrei Mikhailovich of New Zealand.

“At this level, it has to be a completely different game,” Alimkhanuly manager Egis Klimas explained Monday night.

On “X,” IBF and WBO champion Alimkhanuly posted a message reading, Thank you all for your support! I'm fine now. I’ll recover in a couple of weeks and come back! And very important news, I stay fighting at 160 pounds! I have unfinished business here!”

Earlier Monday, the WBO stipulated that Alimkhanuly is ordered to submit to medical testing and provide a detailed medical report of his condition from Friday night, including findings, prognosis and an updated report on when he’ll be cleared to compete again.

Klimas said Alimkhanuly is seeing a physical Tuesday.

“There’ll be no problem with anything … he’s not the first fighter to faint, and we will reschedule the fight,” Klimas said. “I feel so sorry for (Mikhailovich), coming all the way from New Zealand for this fight (at The Palms in Las Vegas).”
