Nicaraguan boxer Jose Alfaro believes his ongoing training experience at the National High Performance Centre (CNAR), located in Mexico City, will give him the necessary boost to defeat former champion Humberto "La Zorrita" Soto (56-7-2,35 KOs) on September 3 in Los Mochis. Alfaro, a former WBA lightweight champ, has been training and sparring with Mexican legend Erik "El Terrible" Morales (51-7, 35 KOs), who prepares for his September 17th clash with Lucas Matthysse.

"I feel strong, very strong for my next fight against Humberto 'Zorrita' Soto, I think I will be victorious," said Alfaro (25-7, 22 KOs). "I'm thrilled because I've received great support from Morales and his team and they have treated me very well. The decision of my promoter Prodesa and my managers to send me to Mexico to train has been great and I have learned much in so little time. At the same time I want to thank Erik, Box Latino and my promoter for the opportunity to train and work with him."

"My attacks, this will be my best defense in the fight. I can guarantee it will be an intense fight and one where I will come in there in great physical condition. This has been my best preparation yet. I've taken it so seriously that Olivaritos Morales, Erik's dad and coach, told me to eat carbohydrates to recover a few pounds."
