Alexis Rocha soaked in the cheers of his adoring public as he once again effortlessly made weight.

The 25-year-old southpaw from Santa Ana, California has remained a model of consistency at the scale throughout his young career. It showed once again during Friday’s official pre-fight weigh-in, where Rocha registered a fighting fit 146.4 pounds for his NABO welterweight title defense.

Late-secured challenger George Ashie was 146 pounds for their scheduled twelve-round main event, live on DAZN this Saturday from YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California.

Rocha (21-1, 13KOs) arrived on Friday within the 145 ¾-148 ½ pound range he has weighed throughout his seven-year pro career. He enters Saturday’s main event riding a five-fight win streak, including a ten-round, unanimous decision over Tijuana’s Jesus Antonio Perez just 12 weeks ago in San Diego. Saturday will mark the fifth straight in the Southern California region for Rocha, all in a fourteen-month span.

A win this weekend will leave Rocha as a leading contender for the WBO welterweight title currently held by Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford (39-0, 30KOs).

Ashie (33-5-1, 25KOs) will make his U.S. debut in a fight he accepted on one week’s notice. The 38-year-old Ghanian journeyman was a late replacement for Atlantic City’s Anthony Young, who withdrew after suffering a broken nose in the final stages of training camp.

Rocha-Ashie headlines a four-fight DAZN show this Saturday.
