Alexis Espino battered and bloodied Ty McLeod, but the super middleweight prospect couldn’t finish off McLeod on Saturday.

Las Vegas’ Espino instead won a six-round unanimous decision on the Demetrius Andrade-Liam Williams undercard at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Espino won comfortably on all three scorecards (60-54, 59-55, 59-55) to remain unbeaten.

McLeod (6-1, 6 KOs), a tough southpaw from Bradenton, Florida, had knocked out each of his first six professional opponents, but Espino (8-0, 5 KOs) was by far the best fighter he has faced.

A left by McLeod landed about 40 seconds into the sixth and final round. Espino continued to land head shots in the sixth round, but McLeod kept trying right until the final bell.

Espino battered a bloodied McLeod with head and body shots throughout a completely one-sided fifth round. McLeod bled badly from a deep cut over his left eye in that round and mostly tried to cover up.

A right-left combination by Espino landed with about 15 seconds to go in the fourth round. Espino, whose nose began bleeding during the third round, bloodied McLeod’s nose in the fourth round.

Espino clipped McLeod with another left hook to the body just after the halfway point of the third round. McLeod mounted a comeback later in the third round and landed some shots to Espino’s head and body.

Espino nailed McLeod with a left hook to the body with a minute to go in the second round. Sensing McLeod was hurt, Espino unloaded a barrage of head shots on a vulnerable McLeod, who was backed into a corner.

Espino drilled McLeod with a straight right hand 1:40 into the first round. Another straight right by McLeod landed with just under a minute to go in the first round.
