Denis Lebedev is a cruiserweight OG and has put out word that he’s opponent hunting for a Sept. 7 bout in Russia.

We have a volunteer, one Alexey Zubov, who fights out of the new Kronk in Detroit.

The Russian native tells us he’s in shape and ready for a rumble with the ex WBA and then IBF cruiser champ, who is trained by Hall of Fame coach Freddie Roach.

Zubov was last in action back in January, when he won a six round decision over Lamont Capers.

“Denis has been a great champion,  and I would love the opportunity to fight with one of the best cruiserweights in the world,” Zubov told BoxingScene.com. “I will show that my last two years of training at the Kronk Gym paid big dividends.  I am very confident of my victory.  Even though the fight date is short notice I have been in the gym and would love to show my skills against such a great champion!”

Zubov owns a 17-1 mark and nine KOs to his credit. The 31 year old is rated No. 13 by the WBO and No. 14 by the IBF, so it looks like he’s maybe the right level of pugilist to tango with the 39 year old, who last fought in July 2017.

Maybe Lebedev can ask him for an autograph, being that he appeared in the upcoming flick Creed 2, and then seek to burst his bubble.

“Alexey’s skills, size drive and determination make him a big threat in the cruiserweight division,” said Zubov’s promoter Dmitriy Salita. “In this fight particularly Alexey is very hungry to break into the scene with the best cruiserweights in the world. As soon as he read the article on the fight he called interested in the opportunity!”
