Javier Arce and Armando Garcia, representatives of G&A Boxing Promotions, have informed BoxingScene.com that once-beaten Puerto Rican welterweight Alex "El Pollo" De Jesus 21-1-0 (13 KOs) joined their company this week.

According to Garcia and Arce, De Jesus was scheduled to appear in action on November 25th at the Haileah Park event where Cuban boxer Erislandy Lara will defend his WBA/IBO junior middleweight titles against Slovenian Jan Zevack.

However, at the last minute, due to personal problems, De Jesus was removed from that fight and waits for a potential return opportunity in December or January.

"We think Alex has the opportunity to achieve his goals and we will try to put on an event before the end of 2015. De Jesus is a strong fighter and we have big plans for his immediate future," said Arce.

"There was a slight problem presented to him in the days leading up to his fight and we pulled him out from this fight. We decide not to put pressure on his performance. I think Alex is now well focused and we must support him. When the situation returns to normal we will push Alex to fight against the best opposition and we are confident that he will achieve another victory,” Garcia said.

In De Jesus’s last fight, coming from an involuntary retirement after nearly four years due to legal problems, he defeated Javier García last Febuary by unanimous decision over six rounds. Now, a focused and very motivated De Jesus hopes to achieve great things in the ring.
