Former Olympian Alex De Jesus (20-1, 13 KO's) arrived tonight to Pennsylvania where on Thursday he will hold a showdown with Gerardo Cuevas (17-11 and 15 KO's) at the Sands Casino Resort. Cuevas, son of former welterweight champion Jose 'Pipino' Cuevas, in 2011 fought Jose 'Chelo' González and lost in six rounds.

"I'm running to get to the hotel, but I am well motivated. The fight is at a maximum of 144 pounds but I'm like 141. For this first fight back I've done 100 rounds of sparring. I've been ready for several months and it's just a matter of weighing in and we'll move forward to the night of the fight. I feel great," said De Jesus.

Jesus had his last fight in 2010, when he defeated by unanimous decision over Jose Angel Roman and his only defeat came in 2009 when he succumbed in Argentina in a controversial unanimous decision to Cesar Rene Cuenca.

"I'm here with my coach Jim Pagan and a brother of mine. I feel good but you have to see how I work up there when the bell rings. I'm eager to demonstrate that there is still gas in the tank," he said.
