Alex Arthur (31-3, 21KOs), Kenny Anderson (16-1, 12KOs) and Craig McEwan (20-2, 10KOs) pleased the home crowd at the Meadowbank Sports Centre in Edinburgh with victories that move each of the trio closer to bigger future fights.

Former interim WBO super-featherweight champion Arthur, who was also promoting the show under his AAA banner, completed an 80-73 point’s win over Michael Frontin on top of the bill which elevates the 33 year-old towards a possible British title shot.

In chief support, Craig McEwan, fresh from his move back to Scotland from Freddie Roach’s Wildcard Gym, scored a similarly impressive eight-round (80-72) victory over Paul Morby to go a little way to erasing the pain of his two losses across the Atlantic last year.

The 30 year-old was firstly defeated by top middleweight contender Andy Lee in March to suffer his maiden defeat in 20 contests and subsequently failed to inflict Peter Quillin’s first loss eight months later in Mexico.

The southpaw hopes that linking up with Arthur can revitalise his career and could be in the domestic shake-up at 160lbs by the end of this year if he can string another couple of higher-profile victories together.

Also on the bill, mandatory British super-middleweight title challenger Kenny Anderson stopped Wayne Reed on his stool after three rounds as he warms up for a shot at could-be world champion George Groves on June 30th.
