Recently I had the opportunity to sit down with Alexander Alekseev (23-2-1, 20 KO) as he prepares for his showdown with Philadelphia's Garrett "Ultimate Warrior" Wilson (13-5-1) in Romania on Friday.   The fight is an IBF eliminator, which will lead the winner one step closer from facing current champion Yoan Pablo Hernandez.  I had the opportunity to discuss various topics with the current EBU champion.

On the fight being held in Romania instead of Germany:

"Germany has too much boxing.  Every week you can see one boxing show.  You can see very good fight.  In Romania, they are very happy to have our fight."

On Garrett Wilson's last fight:

"I saw his fight.  I can say he is a very strong guy and a very good opponent.  It will be a very difficult fight not only for him but for me too.  I am ready for him.  He is a good guy but the better guy will win this fight."

On his fight this Friday:

"It will be a very difficult fight for him and I.  I am ready for this fight.  Whoever is better will be the winner.  I just hope we can put on a good show.  I wish Garrett Wilson good luck.  He is a good guy and on Feb. 22nd we will see each other in the ring."

On winning via KO:

"Every punch can be the last punch.  It's cruiserweight.  If he has the chance not to go 12 rounds he will take it and I am the same.  It is our job.  I have fun in boxing.  When we have this moment we want to make it, we must make it.  We train for this on to make it.  This is mine!"

On if the judges in Romania will be fair:

"I think the judges will be very neutral when and if we go to the scorecards.  We know every punch can be dangerous for him and me too!  I am ready for 12 rounds but when I have the moment to take a KO I will make it!"
