Mexico's Alejandro Sanabria expressed his happiness after a dominating unanimous decision over tough American Rocky Juarez last Saturday in Rosarito, Baja California. Sanabria claimed the Continental Americas title of the World Boxing Council (WBC).

"Everything went very well thanks to our great preparation. Likewise, the strategy paid off, and we worked hard to beat Rocky Juarez," the boxer said.

He acknowledged that despite having won, the fight was complicated.

"There were moments in the fight where I fought and other moments where I boxed and that's what I did to win. We knew the strength of Rocky. And I cut my left eyebrow after a clash of heads in the fourth round," Sanabria said.

Sanabria dropped Juarez in the sixth, but never thought about going for the knockout.

"Not really, I never thought about it. We knew that physically he's a strong fighter. The important thing was to win, no matter how it was achieved. He's a very complete physical fighter and you have to admire fighters like him," said Sanabria.

"He came to win, but my victory was overwhelming, and there was nothing controversial. I hope I can get a world title opportunity. I want to be a world champion."
