Staples Center, Los Angeles, California - Featherweight Jose Gomez (5-0) won a four round unanimous decision over Michael Gaxiola (4-6). All three judges scored the bout in favor of Gomez, 40-36, 40-36, and 39-37.

Lightweight Alejandro Luna (20-0, 15 KOs) broke down Alan Herrera through eight rounds, forcing Herrera to remain on his stool before the start of the ninth round. Luna, who resides in nearby Bellflower, could not miss as Herrera was content to stand in the pocket and trade. Herrera (34-8, 22 KOs) attempted to mount an attack every so often, but Luna thwarted any offense by landing repeated counter rights or lefts to the head. Herrera's punch output dropped with each passing round, while Luna was walked him down against the ropes. After the eighth round, Herrera's corner advised referee Ray Corona to stop the fight. 

In the opening bout, junior featherweight Sergio Quiroz, who was making his professional debut, defeated Damon Simon (0-3) by unanimous decision over four rounds. All three judges scored the bout in favor of Quiroz, 40-36, 40-36, and 39-37.
