2020 Olympic gold medalist Albert Batyrgaziev (5-0, 5 KOs) showcased his vast potential by breaking down former WBC super bantamweight title challenger Franklin Manzanilla (20-8, 19 KOs) into a technical knockout in four rounds.

Immensely talented Russian southpaw utilized a cautious approach in the opening round, assessing his experienced opponent. Manzanilla was very awkward winging looping swings but landing next to nothing.

Batyrgaziev gradually upended his pressure, using fast combos to keep Manzanilla either unbalanced or at ropes almost all the time. The Venezuelan was beaten at punch and missed much in both rounds two and three.

The end came in the fourth. Both times those were multi-punch combinations with the punctuating left cross, which had Manzanilla down. The Venezuelan was ready to continue after the second drubbing, but his corner has seen enough and waved a white towel.

Time of stoppage was 2:25 of the fourth. Batyrgaziev acquired vacant IBF International and Eurasian Boxing Parliament’s featherweight titles in another impressive performance.
