Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan - Former WBA super bantamweight champion Akifumi Shimoda (30-4-2, 13 KOs), now fighting as a featherweight, picks up his second win in a row since suffering the brutal third round knockout to Marvin Sonsona last February in Macau, China.

Shimoda took our Jerry Nardo in five rounds, and when he came back in June he bounced back with an eight round unanimous decision win over Gosuke Seki.

Welterweight contender Yoshihiro Kamegai (26-3-1 23 KOs) took a fight at junior middleweight and crushed Nelson Gulpe (8-6, 3 KOs) in three rounds.

For Kamegai it's his first victory since the ten round decision loss to Alfonso Gomez in March. He has a long road ahead after losing two of his last three fights, including last year's tough loss to Robert Guerrero.
