Counting on the attendance of World Boxing Council President Jose Sulaiman, the thirty-day pre-weigh-in for the “Ring Telmex Gala Card” was held. The card is scheduled to take place on September 24th at “Foro Polanco”, and the main event will feature WBC light flyweight world champion, Adrian “The Confessor” Hernandez, who will make the first defense of the green and gold belt against Gideon Buthelezi, of South Africa.

 

When having his first clash with the scale, the world champion recorded 53 kilograms 900 grams, a reflection of the extraordinary work that he is carrying out at Otomi Ceremonial Center, site of his training camp which will end one week before the bout.

 

Regarding what it means to be featured in the main event of “Ring Telmex Gala Card”, the fighter who was born in Toluca, State of Mexico, remarked:

 

“Without a doubt it is a big responsibility, however, it is a special motivation to make my best effort in each training session; I fully trust my capability, and will keep my belt in any way, also, I will give the fans and promoters of this great card, a very good performance”.

 

When asked what he knew about the South African fighter, Adrian Hernandez, who has shaped a record of 21 wins (13 KO´s), 1 loss, and 1 draw, pointed out the following:

 

“I have been informed that he is a southpaw, and has great speed, reason for which I am working with different sparrings of similar characteristics and will pay attention to even the smallest details to counteract his main weapons with an intelligent kind of boxing, great technical skills and power”.

 

Adrian Hernandez will have to face the scale once again one week before the official weigh-in, which is scheduled to take place on Friday September 23rd, at Plaza Carso of Mexico City.
