Adrian 'El Confesor' Hernandez is more than a year removed from his reign as a 108 lb. titlist, but still has the championship taste in his mouth.

The former two-time beltholder was upended in six one-sided rounds by Naoya Inoue last April. Just one fight has followed, a 2nd round knockout of Armando Torrest last November, taking place at the flyweight limit.

The weight was comfortable enough for Hernandez to swear off the junior flyweight division, returning to flyweight action as he faces Saul 'Baby' Juarez this weekend in Mexico City. There is nothing major at stake, or any formal guarantee for the winner to go on to challenge for a title.

For Hernandez, however, the fight represents the next step in his quest to honor a past promise - one that would require taking on one of the very best fighters in the world.

"I'm not assuming that I will beat Saul, who is a great fighter," Hernandez cautions, "but I know it will take a great fight to beat a very smart fighter. To come out on top will be proof that I am ready to challenge for a world title in another division. I made a promise to (the late) Don Jose Sulaiman that I would one day be world champion at flyweight and I'll get it if I have to face"Chocolatito" (World flyweight king Roman Gonzalez) or the devil himself."

The bout airs live on Televisa in Mexico.
