WBC/lineal light heavyweight champion Adonis "Superman" Stevenson (28-1) only stepped inside the squared circle once in 2016 but what a fight it was. The fight between Thomas Williams and himself that aired on Spike TV started off fast and furious with Williams getting dropped in the first round.

The fight ended in the fourth round when Stevenson sent Williams to the canvas with his trademark left hand to the delight of the thousands of fans in attendance at the Centre Videotron in Quebec City, Quebec. The big left hand was one of the top knockouts of the year.

"It was an amazing fight," said Stevenson. "Williams comes to fight. He can punch. I do what I do. It was a good fight. I am so happy that I had one of the top knockouts of the year. He wanted to beat me and shock the world and I was able to get a great knockout."

While Stevenson is currently in the process of finalizing his next title defense, PBC has announced that Williams (20-2) will return to the ring on February 18th against unbeaten Marcus Browne (18-0) as the chief supporting bout underneath the Adrien Broner-Adrian Granados headlining fight.

Stevenson had a lot of praise for the 29-year-old Williams and feels that on paper Williams should beat Browne. The only doubt that he has is if Williams is able to recover mentally from the stoppage loss.

"Actually I don't know what will happen in the fight. Williams was knocked out in our fight so I don't know. He should win the fight but you never know after a knockout how a fighter will come back. He can come back stronger or not be the same anymore. It all depends on how he comes back. He wants to be a world champion so we will see how he comes back," Stevenson told BoxingScene.com.

Broner-Granados and Williams-Browne will take place in Broner's hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio and will be broadcast live by Showtime.
