Former WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson is now awake. On December 1 in Canada, he was brutally knocked out by mandatory challenger Oleksandr Gvozdyk.

After the fight, Stevenson began to have physical issues and he felt very dizzy in his dressing room. He was taken to the hospital and it was discovered that he suffered a severe brain bleed.

He was placed in a medically induced coma to relieve the swelling.

Earlier this week, Stevenson's longtime promoter, Yvon Michel of GYM, informed members of the media that Stevenson was still in a coma and had shown no signs of recovery.

It was not revealed exactly when Stevenson regained consciousness.
