Highly-regarded welterweight prospect and 2008 US Olympic representative Sadam Ali of Brooklyn, NY put on the most crowd-pleasing performance of his career with a third round knockout of Javier Perez of Ponce, Puerto Rico.

Ali, who now raises his record to 12-0 (7 KO) with a victory, scored the first knockdown of the fight with a picture-perfect left hook counter that nearly screwed Perez into the floor. Ali pressed the advantage when Perez arose with targeted punches to the head before a right hand sent Perez leaning into the ropes at the bell which should have been ruled a knockdown.

After toying with Perez in the second, Ali put Perez's lights out with a left hook that had him napping before he hit the floor. The time of stoppage was 2:40.

Perez drops to 8-5 (5 KO) with the loss, which was his third by knockout.

Polish-born Chicago resident Andrzej Fonfara made an impression on the large Polish fanbase on hand by scoring an entertaining fourth round knockout of Little Rock, Arkansas journeyman Ray Smith in a light-heavyweight bout. The time of the stoppage was 1:04.

The 23-year-old Fonfara pushed the action from the opening bell, landing hard with body shots before blowing the fight open in the penultimate round with a right cross that buckled Smith's legs.

Fonfara pounced immediately and landed a left hook that dropped Smith for good. Fonfara is trained by a familiar face to Polish fans. Sam Collona, who got more out of Andrew Golota's talent than any other trainer, is also guiding Fonfara.

Fonfara raised his record to 17-2 (8 KO), while Smith drops to 9-6 (3 KO).

Polish pride may have been in the air at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, but a slew of undercard performers focused on catching the attention of the respectable early turnout before heavyweights Tomasz Adamek and Kevin McBride made the most of their exposure on the Main Events promoted card.

Welterweight Vinny O'Brien of East Hanover, NJ moved his record to 2-0 (2 KO) with a fourth round round stoppage of debuting Shakir Dunn of Newark, NJ. The stoppage came with just nine seconds left at the 2:51 mark.

Jersey City, NJ's Jose Peralta Alejo had little trouble in dismantling the overmatched Eber Luis Perez of Bolivar, Colombia, whose record now stands at 10-17-1 (8 KO) in three rounds. Alejo, who is better known as Mangu, finished the bout at the 2:49 mark.

The 20-year-old Alejo now stands at 6-1 (4 KO), having won four straight since his only defeat, including a six-round decision over previously unbeaten and regarded prospect Christian Martinez.

Unbeaten Dominican-born featherweight prospect Joselito Collado of Queens, NY kicked off the televised portion winning a solid - if not overly impressive - split decision over cagey stepping stone Rafael Lora of Irvington, NJ.

The scores, which had Collado winning 59-54 and 57-56 against a 57-56 verdict for Lora, were not indicative of the action in the ring. Collado pressed the action, however crudely, and made the fight rough at times by using his head and hitting several times after the bell.

Still, Lora was coming off of three straight stoppage losses to Matt Remillard twice and Adrien Broner, and Collado was unable to firmly establish dominance in the fight and make his mark as a must-see prospect.

Collado sustained a cut from a headbutt in the second round and lost a point for a low blow in the fourth round.
