Abner Mares (26-1-1, 14KOs), the former World Boxing Council featherweight champion, is concentrated on his rematch against Jhonny Gonzalez (55-8, 47KOs). The fight will take place on February 15 at Staples Center in Los Angeles. Their first meeting took place on August 24th at the StubHub Center, where a shocking result took place when Mares was dropped and stopped in the first round.

"He is coming with the confidence that he knocked me out in one round. It was a good shot and I won't take anything away from him, but that won't happen again. I'll be in Mexico City for a week before the fight and after that time I'll fly to Los Angeles," Mares said.

The former Olympian will continue to work with Clemente Medina in his corner, plus Luis Garcia, who will do the physical work.

"I will continue with my entire team. I came to terms with my coach and I think I made the right choice," he said.
