Beatriz Ferreira made a splash in her pro debut.

The 2020 Olympic Silver medalist was granted a request for three-minute rounds, which resulted in twelve minutes of punishment inflicted upon Taynna Cardoso en route to a four-round shutout win. All three judges scored the junior lightweight contest 40-34 in favor of Ferreira in a battle of Brazilian boxers in the DAZN opener Saturday evening from Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio.

The bout marked the first time ever that a women’s boxing match was contested at three-minute rounds in the state of Ohio. Ferreira made every minute count, sending her countrywoman to the canvas in the opening round courtesy of a right hand. Cardoso beat the count but was forced to absorb a seemingly never-ending surge of power punches delivered by the aggressive Ferreira.

Cardoso (5-1, 1KO) was floored again in round three, this time courtesy of a series of body shots. She once again beat the count and ultimately made it to the final bell but couldn’t present an argument for having won even a minute of the four-round affair.

Ferreira advances to 1-0 (0KOs), already catching the eye of boxing royalty.

“Did you think that was her pro debut? I didn’t,” noted lineal/WBC/IBF/WBO junior lightweight queen Alycia Baumgardner (13-1, 7KOs), who also fights under the Matchroom Boxing banner and was ringside for Saturday’s show. “That was impressive. This is high-level… we are seeing here.”

There are already talks of Ferreira  returning as early as December 3. The TikTok dancing, merciless punching Brazilian eyes a spot on the undercard of the rubber match between Juan Francisco ‘El Gallo’ Estrada (43-3, 28KOs) and Roman ‘Chocolatito’ Gonzalez (51-3-1, 41KOs) for the lineal and vacant WBC junior bantamweight championship at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona.

Ferreira claimed the Silver medal in the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics, losing out to Ireland's Kellie Harrington in the final round of the lightweight bracket.

Headlining the show, Cleveland’s Montana Love (18-0-1, 9KOs) faces Australia’s Steve Spark (15-2, 14KOs) in a scheduled twelve-round bout.
